Partnership Program: Answers

  1. Why are my gifts tax-deductible?
    Donations given to the Partnership Program are gifts to Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. These contributions are designated to the Partnership Program Fund and not to any personal account, and are given with the understanding that Gordon-Conwell has complete control and discretion over the use of donated funds, allowing gifts to be deductible for income tax purposes as provided by law. As part of their participation in the Partnership Program, students receive a full-tuition scholarship.

  2. How do I change my credit card or bank account information for my recurring gift?
    You may set up a new recurring gift with your updated information here. You may also update your information over the phone by calling the Stewardship Office at 978-646-4017.  Please allow 1-3 business days for processing.

  3. How do I cancel or change the amount of my recurring gift?
    Please contact the Stewardship Office at stewardship@gordonconwell.edu or 978-646-4017.

  4. Will my recurring gift stop automatically when my student graduates?
    Yes, it will stop automatically; you will not need to contact us.

  5. How should I make out my check and where should I mail it?
    Checks should be made payable to Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary or GCTS. In the memo line please specify "Partnership Program" and the name of your student. Please mail your check to:

  6. I give annually/semi-annually/quarterly by check. Will you send me a reminder when my next gift is due/scheduled?
    Yes, we will mail you a reminder letter for your convenience in sending your next gift.

  7. I give monthly by check. Will you send me a reminder each month?
    No; however, we mail a receipt with each gift we receive, and the receipt includes a return slip for you to send in with your next gift.

  8. My recurring gift has an end date. Will you notify me when it ends in case I want to continue?
    Yes, we will mail you a renewal form.

  9. What is a MyGCTS account and how can it assist me?
    MyGCTS is your personal account to help you access many free resources on the Gordon-Conwell website. You can sign up for a MyGCTS account here, from which you will be able to:

    - Access your student's news updates
    - Update your address
    - View your giving history
     
  10. Can you send me electronic receipts (e-receipts)?  
    We do not have the ability to send e-receipts at this time. However, from your MyGCTS account, you may request e-receipts and you will automatically begin receiving them when the option becomes available.

  11. How can I obtain a year-end giving statement that I can use in filing my taxes?
    Gordon-Conwell is not required by law to send a year-end giving statement, but as a courtesy, we automatically will mail your statement by mid-February. Please save the official receipts you receive from Gordon-Conwell for your gifts throughout the year, as these statements are sufficient for tax purposes. You can also access your giving history online at any time from your MyGCTS account; however, this is not an official statement for tax purposes.

  12. Do you accept matching gifts from companies?
    Yes, please check with your place of employment to verify if they will match your gifts and what you need to do to initiate a match.

  13. Where is my student in his/her fundraising goals?
    Please contact your Partnership student, as the Stewardship Office cannot provide this information.

  14. When is my student expected to graduate?
    Please contact your Partnership student, as the Stewardship Office cannot provide this information.
